About

Paul Turner is an ex-international fly-half who represented Wales whilst playing at Newbridge in South Wales, still the only back from the club ever to do so.   His mercurial tactical kicking and instinctive play won him plaudits from all quarters as he played at Newport in Wales before moving to England and representing Sale FC and Bedford as player-coach.  His metronomical kicking at goal means that he still holds points scoring records at two Welsh clubs to this day.

Following his retirement from the game, his coaching career went from strength to strength with stints at Saracens, Gloucester, HarlequinsWasps and the Barbarians, amongst others, plus a famous spell back at Rodney Parade coaching the Newport Gwent Dragons where his vision and analytic skills were again on display, rewarded with awards as well as praise.  His innovative techniques and thinking “outside the box” have enabled him to assist the development of innumerable players of all ages and he continues to teach “X-Factor” skills to individuals and players to aid their step up to the next level.

Now Head Coach at Ampthill RFC and Rugby Pro at Reigate Grammar School, Paul has focused his energy into setting up Paul Turner Sport.  His business makes use of his unique talents to hone the skills of players and facilitate their development and also his strong links to help teams prosper both on the field as well as off through quality support services.  Paul Turner Sport is more than a coaching service and can now help teams and players through sourcing kit and equipmenttours and fund-raising, as well as running rugby-based team building days for businesses seeking the extra edge.

Paul himself is a very active speaker on the after-dinner circuit and an outspoken pundit, always giving an honest view.  For more information, or to book Paul for your next event, please email us.
